Nothing in The World Can Keep Me From Your love
(Romans 8:38&39)
What to know about this song:
I was once walking a little girl to her
family’s minivan after we had been playing after church one Sunday. One of the other kids called out to her,
saying “Your mom and dad probably left you here!” I knew she probably wasn’t fazed, but I felt
the need to tell her anyway, “They wouldn’t leave you.”
Without missing a beat, she fired back
at me, “I know they wouldn’t leave me.
They love me too much to leave me.
Wanting to reinforce that in her, I told
her “that’s very good that you know that.”
Again, without the slightest moment’s
hesitation, she said “I know it because they tell me all the time.”
The world is full of people who will
love your kids conditionally. It’s
imperative that they never question two things:
1. God loves them
2. Their parents love them
1. God loves them
2. Their parents love them
The secure understanding of these statements is crucial to your kids’ emotional and
spiritual stability. I wrote this song
to help kids understand one of my favorite passages in scripture. Use the subject matter of this song to remind
your kids as often as possible that you love them, and that God will always,
always, ALWAYS love them as well, and that your love nor God’s love will ever
be based on any kind of condition.
Lyrics:
Nothing in the world can keep me from
Your love, Oh Jesus
Nothing brings me joy quite like knowing
this is true
Nothing in the world can keep me from
Your love, Oh Jesus
And so I want to live my life for You
There’s no hill so high that You can’t
climb
There’s no rolling river that’s too wide
No distance that’s too far for You to
run
I want to share your love with everyone
Nothing in the world can keep me from
Your love, Oh Jesus
Nothing brings me joy quite like knowing
this is true
Nothing in the world can keep me from
Your love, Oh Jesus
And so I want to live my life for You
