The world today is chock full of
different directions for a person to be pulled in. Insecurities and anxieties run rampant, and
far too young is the age that they first start whisking people away.
All kinds of groups of people will
tirelessly attempt to convince your children to identify with them. Many of those groups are not inherently bad, but the social pressure they can put on kids can be pretty scary. I feel that it’s
of the utmost importance for kids to know that God, being the sovereign Creator
of life, REALLY knows what He's talking about when He says something about who some one is! And to top it off, the things He says about His children are absolutely marvelous!! No amount of self-esteem or image security (though these are not bad things!) is going to ever stack up to the things God says in His word about you and your
kids.
This is a song that I wrote to tie a
whole album together, an album that’s all about the incomparable and undeniable
peace of knowing exactly who you are as God’s creation, and ultimately who you
are in Christ.
Let the subject matter of this song ease its way into conversations with your kids about who they are. Take
every opportunity possible to expose them to truth about who God says they are,
and spare them the identity crisis!
